Full Time Mom, Part Time Student

One thing in life I have always wanted is a career achieved by finishing college. I had my son at such a young age I never thought I would get the chance to go to school. I tried going back after I had my son and be a single mom and helping my father who had terminal cancer. It was just to much. I had to drop out, then I got laid off from my job, then my father passed away. Was not a good year for me. Well couldn't go any further down, could only go up. So I found a job, then met my husband. When we first got together, the first thing I had told him was my dreams to go back to school. I wanted to persue something in the medical field. We made our wedding plans, I was pregnant soon after, we planned on moving to another state, planned on buying a house. Everything we planned was going accordingly. Right after we moved from Florida to North Carolina, I brought it up that no matter what, I will be going back to school. That is when I went ahead and applied with Kaplan University. It wasn't easy going back to school. I had to get adjusted to my son starting school, my daughter with her medical issues, my husband working two jobs, and my school work. It's a LOT, but somehow, some way, I will make it. I am halfway done, and doing great. I'm not doing perfect, but I'm average. I am happy. Now that my son has to get up so early, I take advantage of having a couple hours of peace and quiet while my daughter still sleeps to get class work done. Going back to school was the best thing I have ever done. I have never been so happy to have a loving and wonderful family and going to school for something I have always dreamed of doing.
